Taking the first step towards beginning your fitness journey is not always easy. The reasons in which we begin vary from person to person. Think for a moment… Why is it that you made the decision to begin your journey? Did you go on a hike and realize that you’re out of shape? Did you recently have a baby and are trying to lose some weight? Have you suffered a break up and want to become better? Did the doctor tell you that you need to start incorporating healthy foods and exercise? Did you simply realize that you want to improve your life overall? Or do you want a bangin’ summer body? Regardless of the reason you’ve started, CONGRATULATIONS! I am sincerely proud of you for taking control of your life and are choosing to make decisions that will improve your life, confidence, and overall health!
Getting started can be a bit difficult. What kind of foods should you eat? What workouts should you do? Should you go to the gym or workout at home? Should you get a personal trainer? Should you count your calories? What are macros? SO. MANY. QUESTIONS. The wonderful thing about all of this is that YOU are in control. YOU get to decide what to do and what steps to take based on your individual goals and the vision that you see for yourself. Another great thing – I am here to help and join you through this process! I love helping people as much as I possibly can and that is what I aim to do! I want to provide helpful information that can help beginners and experienced individuals, whether it be workout tips, healthy recipes, motivation, etc. I began this lifestyle in July of 2014 and it is easily one of the best decisions I have ever made. It has changed my life in so many ways, I cannot even begin to explain. I can assure you that your life will begin to improve throughout this journey. If you embrace these changes and continue to work towards becoming better, I can assure you that you will never look back.
My suggestion to you is this…. Whether you’re just starting or you have been in your journey for some time, first determine what your purpose is. Is it to lose weight? Gain muscle? Build endurance? Become healthier? Gain confidence? Figure out what it is that you are looking to accomplish. Find your “why?” This is a CRUCIAL step.
It’s easy to get lost as to what to do next or what steps to take. My purpose is to help people become a better version of themselves and allow them to realize that being “fit” is not a destination. Of course we all have goals, but being “fit” is a journey. A mother of three who does at-home workouts is “fit.” An individual that goes to the gym regularly is “fit.” A bodybuilder who is prepping for a show is “fit.” There is no single definition of “fit.” Allow yourself to see that you are working towards becoming a better version of yourself. Compare yourself to the person you were yesterday – do NOT compare yourself to others. All of us in the fitness community are wanting to improve our lives, health, and bodies to some degree. It’s time we all work together and help each other achieve our goals. Let’s take this journey together and let me help YOU become the best version of yourself.
